Synopsis

"Basima- Our Threads of Life" is a short documentary I filmed in Cairo. It tells the story of Basima Mohammed, a tapestry weaver at the Ramses Wissa Wassef Art Center, and a woman l've had a deep connection with since childhood. Through her personal journey, the film shows how women who have grown up under difficult circumstances can rise above their challenges. Basima has built her life with her own hands - quite literally - weaving not just tapestries, but also a path toward financial independence, self-worth, and confidence. Her story is a powerful testament to how creative expression can become a means of empowerment and transformation.
