Synopsis

History of Forssan Elävienkuvien teatteri

The oldest functioning movie theater in Finland, Forssan Elävienkuvien teatteri is located by the river Loimijoki in Forssa. Coincidences often drive events and their course, shaping history just like streams shape the river bank. Without the factory community in Forssa, there wouldn't be Elävienkuvien teatteri. Forssa gave the setting and audience for this modern invention. How did movies find their way to Forssa? One must delve into the life of Albert Lindfors, a local painter about whose life and art very little is known.
