Synopsis

The prince’s court marshal announces throughout the land: A royal court seamstress is needed! But neither the widow Berta nor her daughter, the lazy and wicked Pitchmarie, can spin—so where will they get the best yarn in the land? Goldmarie, the hardworking and kind orphan who has come to live with them, must spin! But when her spindle falls into the well, she finds herself in the realm of Frau Holle, the weather fairy. As she performs her duties so diligently, she is richly rewarded with gold. Now the lazy Pitchmarie dreams of this wealth as well, and she, too, enters the service of Frau Holle...
